New York Subliners go 0-2 with new roster: time to bring in Censor?

Coming into CDL Los Angeles, the New York Subliners had high hopes after a rocky start to the season. They arrived at the event with a new roster featuring Nick “Happy” Suda, replacing grizzled veteran Trei “Zer0” Morris. While this was supposed to ignite a fire under the roster, it seems to have had the opposite effect. The team as a whole underperformed with Happy not meeting expectations in place of Zer0. So, after another 0-2 weekend, should New York introduce substitute Doug “Censor” Martin to the Call of Duty League?

Censor the answer for New York?

In terms of controversial figures in the community, none may be more disputed than Censor. Formerly of FaZe Clan and a handful of other teams, like compLexity, Censor has been around Call of Duty for a while. He’s a four-time event winner, having the most success in Call of Duty: Ghosts and Advanced Warfare.

For the 2020 season, New York signed Censor as a substitute/content creator for the organization. At the beginning of Modern Warfare, it seemed like the Subliners had a stacked roster, so Censor’s opportunity to play was considered low.

A loss against the Mutineers marks the end of our LA Home Series campaign.

We go back to the drawing board and look forward to playing again in Chicago. #NYSL #CDL2020

Fast forward to now, however, and things have changed drastically. Currently, New York is 1-6 with only 10 points in the CDL standings. They’ve benched one of the most notable players on their roster but are still struggling to win a map, let alone a series.

After this rough performance, is it finally time to move Censor up to the starting roster? It’s clearly what all of the fans want, as evident by the Twitter comments under any Subliners post. Censor, who recently saw his dad go on a mini-tirade over the current starting roster, would relish the opportunity as well.

The former FaZe member has been putting in the work, grinding Modern Warfare with other professional players. It also appears he’s ready to be thrust into the spotlight, as we can see from his latest tweet.

It’s likely New York will give Happy one more event to prove his worth. Although, the Subliners don’t play again until CDL Chicago, which takes place in early April. That’s a lot of time for New York to make a decision.
