The Overwatch League will cast two PTR exhibition matches featuring Overwatch Hero 32, Echo. San Francisco Shock will face Seoul Dynasty and Los Angeles Valiant battle their rivals Los Angeles Gladiators.
As the Overwatch League came to a halt due to coronavirus concerns all around the world, the League still wants to produce content for its fans. As such, they announced casting two PTR exhibition matches featuring Overwatch Hero 32, Echo. To showcase the hero, the League called some of the most iconic Overwatch teams.
Shock vs Dynasty
For the first game, reigning Overwatch League champions San Francisco Shock will battle against Seoul Dynasty, yet to be seen this year. They will play at 1 PM Pacific Time. This first game should be packed with Echo’s actions, as Joon-yeong “Profit” Park and Dong-jun “Rascal” Kim are two of the most popular flex DPS players in the Overwatch League.
Valiant vs Gladiators
The second match is between the two Los Angeles home teams: Valiant vs Gladiators. For this game, the players who will give a shot at Echo will probably be Kyle “KSF” Frandanisa for Los Angeles Valiant and Gia Huy “MirroR” Trịnh for the Gladiators. While KSF is an experienced flex DPS player, MirroR is still pretty new in the Overwatch League. He only joined Los Angeles Gladiators last November.
These games will be the occasion to see how professionals play Echo at a high level. We will also see how the Overwatch Hero 32 melts with existing team compositions. This is also a trial run for the Overwatch League. They’ll be testing the remote production and casting of online games for the first time. If these exhibition matches go well, the League could see how to implement online matches for the rest of the Season.
All games are available on the Overwatch League’s YouTube channel. The streams begin today at 1 PM Pacific Time, with San Francisco Shock against Seoul Dynasty.
