Riot Games has reported viewership figures for the League of Legends World Championship, which generated a 23.04M average minute audience across all platforms. This is up from 2019’s championship event which reached a 21.8M AMA.
Worlds 2020 was broadcast across more than 21 platforms and in 16 languages. The combined viewership peaked at 45.95M concurrent viewers. Riot also reported that AMA viewership for the first stage of the tournament was up 61.76% year-over-year.
By AMA metrics, Worlds is the most-watched esports event of the year, surpassing similar season finale tournaments by a significant margin. The Overwatch League finals reached a global AMA of 1.55M (1.39M AMA in China). The final match of the Call of Duty League championship reported a 206K AMA.
