Team Liquid and Huya Streaming Partnership Extended to 2022

Esports organization Team Liquid and Chinese livestreaming platform Huya have extended their streaming partnership to 2022. Team Liquid signed an initial deal in June of 2019 to stream select Team Liquid competitive esports content, some of which was translated to Mandarin in “real-time” for Huya’s audience.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The new multi-year deal expands the content streamed on Huya. This includes 22 member channels created by Team Liquid content creators, with members of its PUBG, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive rosters participating.

Team Liquid stated its players streamed more than 4.1K hours on the platform in the first year of the Huya partnership. Team Liquid PUBG player Jord “ibiza” van Geldere reached a peak of 2.8M viewers in 2019 on Huya, gained “almost 900K followers,” and was “voted by fans as the most popular foreign streamer” on the platform in 2019.

Team Liquid remains the only North American esports organization signed to Huya, however, the platform also recently signed a deal with Europe’s Team Secret.
