Team placements announced for Worlds – Daily Esports

Riot Games has officially announced team placements for the 2020 Worlds Championship. Some teams have got it easy, while others may find it difficult to advance passed Groups. Overall, there’s plenty of solid placements for each region, allowing a fair fight in all groups.

Fair placements for most teams

This year’s “Group of Death” might very well be Group D with Top Esports, DRX, and FlyQuest. This group is full of top-performing Mid-Laners, such as DRX’s Jeong “Chovy” Ji-hoon, their superstar playmaker who’s skilled at engaging in game-changing team fights. He’ll be playing against FlyQuest’s Tristan “PowerOfEvil” Schrage, and Top Esports’ Zhuo “Knight” Ding.

Another tough Group may be Group B, featuring LCK Summer winner Damwon Gaming, and LPL Summer runner-up JD Gaming. It may be a challenge for Rogue to get out of Groups, but the team feels confident enough to take them on.

TSM placed with Fnatic and Gen.G will be a show to watch, as this group features veteran teams of the pro scene. Any of these teams can easily qualify to advance out of Groups, as they’re all fairly competitive. This applies especially to TSM, who surprised the LCS audience when they made it to the top for Summer Finals.
