Valorant has officially released competitive mode across all regions after several patch issues arose with the release of Act 3. These issues included audio bugs, sound errors, and the inability to purchase the battlepass or anything from the shop. These issues were among the most that Valorant has had to face since the game’s release. However, the developers are constantly updating the server’s current situation via Twitter.
With competitive mode coming back to Valorant, with it comes some new features to the mode. If you played competitive last split, your matches formed into your Act Rank. These triangles showcased your progression throughout the Act and could be viewed by friends. The more games you won the more your border would update with thresholds at 9, 25, 50, 75, and 100 wins. Now that Act 2 has finished you are able to show off Valorant Act Ranks in future competitive matches. Whatever rank you finished the Act will appear in the middle. Surrounding the middle rank are ranks that you played through during that Act. For example, if you finished Gold 1 but played many games of Silver, your badge would be full of Silver triangles.
Valorant Act Ranks now appear in competitive
These Act Ranks will now appear above your card while in the competitive queue and will display on your card at the start of matches. You will be able to see your teammates Act Rank at the start of maps as well as your enemies. Whenever an enemy kills you, their Act Rank will also appear on their card along with how they killed you. These badges do not replace your current rank which will be displayed during the round like in the last Act.
In addition to your new Act Rank, your current rank will reset slightly after each Act. This requires you to play an additional three matches for placements after each season. However, your rating does not change dramatically between Acts. You should be placed somewhere near where you ended the last Act regardless of how your placement matches go. For example, if you finished the last Act Platinum 3, you should still place somewhere close to Platinum 3.
