Pokémon Go players can buy into the final Throwback Challenge

The final Pokémon Go Throwback Challenge event will start on June 3 and players who missed out on previous opportunities to unlock it will be able to purchase a $7.99 pass to participate.

To unlock the set of Champion Special Research, players had to complete the previous weeks’ Timed Research Tasks for the Kanto region, Johto region, Hoenn region, and Sinnoh region. If you end up completing all of them, you’ll be able to participate in the Champion Special Research for free.

For those who weren’t able to complete the tasks, you can still participate, but only if you buy a $7.99 ticket. The Special Research will guarantee players chances to catch Unova-region Pokémon, like the starters, as well as Audino, Darumaka, and Gothita. At the end of the quest line, players will be able to grab Genesect, a Pokémon that has only been available prior from another paid Field Research event.

Players who unlock the Champion Special Research for free can still buy a ticket. The rewards will be shifted so for every time you’d normally encounter a Pokémon, you’ll get 10 of the respective candy instead.

Even without access to the Special Research, Galarian Stunfisk will be appearing in the wild, and Galarian Meowth, Zigzagoon, Darumaka, and Stunfisk will be showing up in seven kilometer eggs.

Pokémon Go Plus

The Pokémon Go Plus is a small Bluetooth device that lets you enjoy Pokémon Go while you’re on the move and not looking at your smartphone. The device notifies you about events in the game, such as the appearance of a Pokémon nearby using an LED and vibration.
