10 Easiest 9.9 Intensity Routes In Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Each Super Smash Bros. game includes a mode called "Classic Mode," where you pick a character and have to complete a series of seven fights, with the final level consisting of a boss battle. Each character's route through this mode is different, and as you progress through a route and do better in each fight, you raise the intensity, which determines the difficulty of the next match. If you die, the intensity is sharply reduced.

The true goal for many Smash players will be to reach the elusive 9.9 intensity, which is the highest possible value. However, this is easier said than done because you have to complete each level as fast as possible without ever dying. Fortunately, some characters have easier routes than others.

10 Little Mac

Little Mac's route is filled with characters who are purely fist fighters, such as Ryu and various Mii Brawlers. Most of the arenas don't tend to have any platforms, which suits Little Mac's ground-based style of fighting, so make sure to make use of the super armor on his smash attacks.

Donkey Kong in stage six, and Master Hand and Crazy Hand in stage seven are most likely to give you some trouble, but they're no less susceptible to Mac's K.O. punch and his counter, so be aggressive.

9 Roy

Roy is arguably the best Fire Emblem character in Smash Bros. Ultimate, and his Classic Mode route is certainly the easiest of them all. Besides the obvious benefit of his counter, he can also deal out a lot of damage very quickly thanks to his speed and power. Even Master Hand and Crazy Hand are less frustrating when playing as Roy.

It can get a bit dicey when you're fighting the other Fire Emblem characters, especially the tag-team of dual Corrins, so don't get greedy.

8 Captain Falcon

Captain Falcon's route is great for taking advantage of his high damage output, especially since it's much easier to launch opponents in Classic Mode compared to other modes. It's also very satisfying when you knock Master Hand and Crazy Hand to the ground and hit them with a Falcon Punch.

As for the rest of the levels, they're generally pretty easy to deal with because they're themed around fist combatants, so for people who dislike swords in Smash Bros., this route will be right up your alley.

7 Link

Link has an easier time thanks to his side smash and arsenal of projectiles. Even the giant Ridley in stage two can be quickly defeated if you're accurate with Link's down stab whilst in mid-air.

The final boss of the route is Ganon, who can only be damaged by striking his tail. His attacks are extremely powerful but you have plenty of time to react to them, which makes him one of the easier bosses in Ultimate. In fact, it's possible to get through this encounter without taking damage.

6 Sephiroth

The entirety of Sephiroth's route is a boss rush against all of the bosses in the game (except Galeem and Darkhon). Sephiroth's slower speed is therefore not such a hindrance because you have plenty of time to prepare for each boss' attack, and Sephiroth can deal out just as much pain in return.

The only hiccups you may face are in regards to Giga Bowser in stage six, and Master Hand and Crazy Hand in the final round. However, as long as you have their strategies down, you should be fine.

5 Bowser

Given that Bowser is one of the strongest characters in the game (perhaps THE strongest), his encounters can be over very quickly if you use the right moves. His side special is endlessly reliable for damaging multiple enemies at once, and his bulk means that it's harder for enemies to knock him off-screen.

When you get to Master Hand and Crazy Hand at the end, Bowser's fire breath and various smash attacks are extremely effective at dealing heavy damage to them, especially his drop kicks.

4 Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff's route is named "All Original, All 64," and it involves fighting all of the characters that appeared in the original Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64. This means you know exactly who you'll be fighting throughout the route, even if you don't know the exact circumstances of each level.

The final boss is Donkey Kong who's been given a super mushroom. He deals a lot of damage and is hard to knock off the screen, but his increased size makes him more vulnerable to Jigglypuff's powerful rest special.

3 Wolf

Wolf is a great character for beginners in Smash Bros. Ultimate, and his route is certainly the easiest compared to Fox and Falco. This is partially due to Wolf's combination of strong specials and equally useful smash attacks.

However, the main reason it's much easier is because of the final boss, Galleom. This huge robot may seem intimidating, but his huge size means that Wolf's side special will always deal max damage upon contact. Wolf's reflector shield is also perfect for sending Galleom's missiles right back at them.

2 Kazuya

Kazuya's route plays out more like a traditional fighting game because the matches are stamina battles. Due to the huge variety of moves available to Kazuya, you can quickly rinse through your opponents' health even if they manage to hit you back.

Even the tag-team of Donkey Kong and King K. Rool can do little against the super armor on Kazuya's smash attacks. His rage attacks at low health are also extremely useful if things are getting too dicey, especially against the two rival Kazuya's you fight at the end.

1 Terry

Similar to Kazuya, Terry's route is made up of a series of stamina battles. This time, you face three opponents per level (one at a time), have 150% health for each match, and you get no healing items for when a new opponent spawns in.

The way to survive these matches is to take advantage of Terry's combos, so your opponents never have a chance to attack. Since Terry's route is one of the few which doesn't end with a giant boss fight, this makes getting 9.9 intensity much easier.
