WandaVision is coming to a close soon and fans can’t get enough of Wanda, Vision, and the cast of characters in the popular Marvel Disney+ show. Despite never being referred to as the Scarlet Witch, fans understand her comic history and what types of things the magical powerhouse is drawn to.
As an individual who could manipulate reality, Wanda is very much capable of putting herself in the world of Pokemon and living out her life as a trainer. If this happened though it’s a neat thought experiment to consider which Pokemon she’d be drawn to and want to catch in hopes of building a bond with.
10 Hatterene
Hatterene is the newest Pokemon on this list and is a Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon that was introduced in the Galar region featured in Pokemon Sword & Shield. Though it is labeled as the Silent Pokemon it is also known as the Forest Witch. It has a strong connection to psychic powers and can deter people from approaching it by giving them head pains. Despite being slightly scary, it has a pastel-colored design that includes an adorable witch’s hat and a flowing dress-like silhouette that make it the ideal Pokemon partner for someone like Wanda.
9 Hypno
There’s a saying that goes “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer” and that might perfectly describe Wanda’s connection to Hypno. Her most heartbreaking story in the comics revolves around her kids being taken from her and being revealed as the spawn of a devil-like character named Mephisto. Hypno on the other hand is rumored to be a child kidnapper who feasts on the nightmares of young kids. She may want to have a Hypno of her own that could possible eat all of her never-ending nightmares that wake her up at night.
8 Murkrow
Removed from Pokemon, most people could easily mistake Murkrow as a character in a Studio Ghibli film. It has that peculiar and specific magical feel that can only be found in that collection of incredible animated films. It happens to be a tiny crow that sports a witch’s hat on top of its head.
It is known for being a sign of misfortune, but it’s unclear if those feelings are based on proof, or if they arose due to the general disdain of crows and their ilk. Wanda’s misunderstood a lot of the time, so they have common ground there of all places.
7 Haunter
Despite having points in her story where she succumbs to the darkest parts of her psyche, Wanda isn’t necessarily known as a villain. This makes pairing her up with a Ghost and Poison-type Pokemon like Haunter a bit strange on the surface. If this is a Wanda who’s a bit off the deep end and is removed from her connection to the Avengers, creating a small army of ghost Pokemon seems like a likely trajectory. Evolving it into a Gengar and gaining use of the Hypnosis/Dream Eater move combo would be terrifying for anyone who stands in her way.
6 Clefairy
It wouldn’t make sense to have a list of Pokemon partners for Wanda and not include Clefairy in some capacity. The adorable pink mysterious alien-like creature is a Fairy-type Pokemon and arguably the ancestor of all Fairy-types as it is known as the Fairy Pokemon. Due to how cute it is and the fact that it has strange magical powers, Clefairy is a rather popular Pokemon. The problem is that it is rather rare, but for someone like Wanda, the search for a Clefairy of her own wouldn’t be much tougher than a simple scavenger hunt.
5 Mismagius
Mismagius, the Magical Pokemon, is a pure Ghost-type Pokemon that’s just as scary as it is cute, somehow. Looking at its base stats it may not do a lot in the physical realm, but its speed, special defense, and special attack are all pretty solid across the board. WandaVision is currently dealing with Wanda controlling regular people and making them do things against their will. Mismagius is capable of the same type of thing due to its loud cries which sound less like distress signals and more like magical witch incantations.
4 Delphox
It’s hard not to look past the simple and obvious reason Delphox made this list. It is the closest thing the Pokemon franchise has to an actual witch or wizard and its design is clearly meant to embody that look and feel.
Sadly, Delphox is one of the more forgettable starter Pokemon and that’s saying something considering the Fire-types are often the most sought after. It being both Fire and Psychic-type gives it some flexibility when battling and Wanda would likely admire its connection to fire.
3 Gardevoir
Depending on the circumstance Wanda can come across as elegant, beautiful, and graceful. When she’s pushed to her limits she’s not afraid to display her immense power and abilities that can punish the toughest of opponents. Gardevoir is a feminine Psychic and Fairy-type Pokemon that carries much of that same energy. It can predict the future, is a telepath, and becomes more powerful when it is actively protecting its trainer. Gardevoir can also create black holes, which seems similar to the chaotic energy Wanda is familiar with.
2 Abra
Abra, the Psi Pokemon, is most well-known for being a nightmare to catch due to its ability to teleport out of battle. In a similar way, it seems that Wanda would rather avoid her trauma and try to forget about it entirely, so in a way she mentally teleports away from the troubles right in front of her. Abra also happens to be incredibly cute, which isn’t a guarantee when looking at Psychic-types. That typing tends to lean into the scary and off-putting which helps round out the franchise’s grouping of designs and aesthetics.
1 Espeon
Though Espeon is a Psychic-type Pokemon, the common pairing for Wanda is to give her an adorable witch-inspired Pokemon to match with her power base. Witches are also known to have black cats roaming around so if the choice came down to Eevee evolutions then most would assume it would be Umbreon. Espeon has precognitive powers and can sense its opponent’s next moves and is known for being extremely loyal. Wanda herself is as loyal as they come when it concerns Vision, so there’s no denying she would love and protect Espeon at all costs.
