Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been revealed as the next entry in Ubisoft’s hugely popular series.
As widely rumoured, the next Assassin’s Creed game will be set during the Vikings era.
This was confirmed in a surprise live stream that went live today (Wednesday April 29) which showed artist BossLogic bit-by-bit crafting a teaser image for it.
The live stream lasted hours, and for much of it fans were left trying to guess what era the teaser Assassin’s Creed image was going to show.
At the beginning some of those in the YouTube chat for the Ubisoft live stream thought the teaser was hinting at bygone eras in Japanese or Chinese history.
But as the teaser image started to take shape it became more and more apparent that it indeed was depicting the age of the Vikings.
And now Assassin’s Creed fans will get their first proper look at the next entry in the franchise.
On Thursday April 30 at 4pm BST a cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be revealed.

The news was revealed by the Assassin’s Creed Twitter who posted: “Watch the World Premiere of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla April 30th at 8am PDT / 5pm CEST.”
Anticipation is high for the next Assassin’s Creed game, as the last title in the iconic series was Odyssey released back in 2018.
And rumours have been swirling around the next entry in the series for awhile, with leaks pointing towards a Viking theme for some time.
Ubisoft has not announced what platforms Assassins Creed Valhalla will be releasing on.
But it is rumoured that the next AC game will be a cross-gen title for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4 and Xbox One.
The Assassin’s Creed live stream revealing the first teaser art for Valhalla seemingly dropped out of the blue.
However, there was one sign that big news was coming from Ubisoft which was spotted by industry analyst Daniel Ahmad beforehand.
The Niko Partners senior analyst noticed that the Weibo account for Ubisoft China was teasing an announcement at 1pm BST, which is when the live stream kicked off.
Ahead of it Ahmad tweeted: “Ubisoft China is teasing an announcement for April 29, 8pm (China time).
“They set a notification on Weibo for it.”
They then added: “It’s worth paying attention to Ubisoft social media outside of China too. Both today and tomorrow.”
