Warner Bros. Montreal continues to say nothing about its teased Batman game and fans are beginning to lose patience.
With a few big-name titles receiving new details or being announced recently, Batman fans are left wondering where exactly the next long teased and rumoured Batman game will be.
There have been teasers from studio WB Games Montréal as early as September last year, that seemed to suggest that it would centre around recurring antagonists the Court of Owls. Although rumours of a game using that plotline goes back to at least 2018.
The last of these teases came in January and, since then, the studio has gone completely silent, and it’s frustrating fans.
However, this may have caught the attention of Warner Bros. Montreal, as it seemingly responded to the ‘enthusiasm’ via Twitter.
‘Thank you very much for the enthusiasm for our next project. At this time, our channel will showcase the studio: Who we are and why we love making games! So stay tuned!’
It’s possible that Warner Bros. will simply announce it later in the year as part of the Summer Game Fest, as host and organiser Geoff Keighley did confirm that Warner Bros. will be involved.
Warner Bros. Montreal’s last Batman game was Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel title that, while a perfectly serviceable and enjoyable game, very much felt like a watered down version of Arkham City.
That was 2013 though and, incredibly, WB Games Montréal hasn’t released a single big budget game all generation, with instead a mountain of rumours suggesting they’ve had several project cancelled in that time.
