Call of Duty Modern Warfare Update: PS4 & Xbox patch news for next COD download

Activision has shared their plans for the next Call of Duty Modern Warfare update coming this week to PS4, Xbox and PC.

The latest update also shares a few more details about some smaller changes to the games newly released Warzone mode.

And with upwards of 30 million players since launching a matter of weeks ago, it's all the more important that Infinity Ward keeps on top of the game to maintain that growing player base.

But primarily, the new weekly update will bring about the usual selection of playlist changes we've come to expect from the game every Tuesday.

That means players can expect a new Call of Duty patch to be released on March 24, 2020, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As noted by Activision's new blog post, new content included in tomorrow’s update will be live at 11PM PT. Which seems later than usual, and actually means it'll be live by 6am GMT Wednesday.

Keep reading, we'll details everything new coming to the game this week.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Updates

Whilst we expect the new update will address certain bugs within the game, the Activision blog only details what new content is coming.

And this week, that comes in the form of a new 6v6 map named Khandor Hideout (seen above).

"This medium-sized map in Syrkistan supports 6v6 play and has long sight lines and interior spaces to complement diverse combat ranges." Activision explain.

"The large centrally located warehouse is a hub of activity and haven for CQB players. Hunt down your enemies and be wary of marksmen firing down lanes in Khandor Hideout."

In addition, the game will also be adding a new Coalition Operator named Talon (seen below).

"Talon comes alongside his fierce dog Indiana that’s also ready for combat. Indiana's skills are on display in Talon’s Finishing Move, one of many items in Talon’s bundle.

"The bundle also includes two Legendary weapon blueprints and two tier skips! Visit the Store this week and get the Talon bundle, available tomorrow, to jump into a Multiplayer match or drop into Warzone with this new Operator."

As well as everything listed above, you can also find a list of the bugs that Infinity Ward says are fixed in a future release, just below:

  1. The game exhibits micro-stutters in-game after placing the Xbox into Rest Mode and returning from powered off while the System Setting "Instant-On" is enabled
  2. Placing a Tac Insert in the crawl space near the oil derrick on Rust will spawn players elsewhere on the map
  3. Reports of players getting repeat rewards for Daily Challenges
  4. Some weapons appear with developer text instead of their proper names

Call of Duty Warzone Updates

Like Modern Warfare, we expect that the games next update will include a number of bug fixes as the developers look to keep on top of problem issues (more on that further down).

Last week the game added Solos mode to the game, but the additions this week are a bit more modest, focussing more on the addition of four new weapons to arm yourself with.

"The 725, MK2 Carbine, .50 GS, and EBR-14 will be available in the world of Warzone. Find these armaments across Verdansk in both Common and Uncommon rarities, then take aim against your opponents," the developers teased.

"Each weapon comes with distinct strengths in its class, consider equipping them in loadouts to see how they match up on the battlefield."

As we mention though, there are some bugs which are believed to be fixed in a future release. Quite whether these will come tomorrow, isn't clear, but it's a possibility. We've listed those bugs believed to be quashed, just below.

  1. Players will rarely see full screen black corruption when naturally progressing through the map
  2. Players who are the last to die and attempt to leave the game, they'll see a 'your squad can still revive you' message even though there are no squad mates alive
  3. Players who disconnect from a match will not drop any items that they were carrying

Call of Duty Endowment Update

Activision also took the time to mention that Modern Warfare's Endowment Defender Pack will return to the store this week.

However, unlike the time the goods was on offer, players can now equip the Defender Pack in Multiplayer, Special Ops, AND the new Warzone mode.

For those who maybe don't know, the Defender Pack supports the Call of Duty Endowment, a non-profit organization that helps veterans find high-quality jobs.

We've written about the Call of Duty Endowment organisation a few times on Daily Star, and it's a great cause that also benefits vets in the UK.

It's a very worthy cause that does incredible things for ex-service men and women; well worth your cash if you can spare it.
