And Activision has just announced some big Call of Duty news concerning it’s next big Cold War reveal. As confirmed in August, developers Treyarch will be hosting another Black Ops event in September. This one will be focused on the multiplayer section of the game, meaning both Cold War and Warzone news is coming this month.
The popular Battle Royale spin-off will continue to be supported by Treyarch, with new weapons and locations expected to be added.
A message from Activision explains: “Available now, the free-to-play blockbuster battle royale experience, Warzone will share content with Black Ops Cold War.
“Black Ops Cold War includes shared progression features with Warzone, adding inventory items that can be used in both titles. Plus,
“Warzone players will still have access to Modern Warfare content they earned previously, like Operators and weapon blueprints.
“More information on Black Ops Cold War and Warzone will be announced at a later date.”
Many believe that this news will be shared during the upcoming Black Ops Multiplayer reveal, which is being held on September 9.
And we now know that that the big worldwide multiplayer Cold Wars news will be shared at 10am PT, on September 9.
For gamers in the UK, that will mean tuning in for around 6pm BST on the same day.
The next experience in the Black Ops series is already available for pre-order on PS4, Xbox One and pre-purchase on Battle.net.
The good news is that the game will also be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox One Series X, although you will need to be careful which version of the game you buy.
“A physical Standard Edition disc to digital next-generation upgrade will not operate with a discless console,” Activision warns.
“If you choose to upgrade your physical PlayStation 4 disc to the digital version of the game on PlayStation 5, the physical PlayStation 4 disc must be inserted into the PlayStation 5 disc drive in order for the PlayStation 5 version of the game to play.
“The digital Cross-Gen Bundle includes the base game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War for both console generations within the same console family (PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 or Xbox One and Xbox Series X).
“The next-gen version of the game will feature higher framerate, hardware-based ray-tracing, shorter load times, and more.
“Players also will get the Confrontation Weapons Pack that includes two Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War weapon blueprints, available at launch.”
Fans are also hoping to learn more about the new Call of Duty Zombies mode being released with Black Ops Cold War.
Not much has been revealed regarding this mode and there’s always the chance that Activision will hold back the Zombies reveal until a later date.
