It was announced months ago, and it took a while, but patch 1.5 is finally here and Cyberpunk 2077 can now make the jump to the next generation. Night City is more alive than ever with the improvements that have been made to the game, and it's worth diving back into it.
This article will guide you through the new parts of the patch, allowing you to fully explore it and get the most out of it. Some free DLC has also been added to the game and, although New Game Plus hasn't come out yet, it's definitely worth replaying with these changes. Not everything from the update has been revealed yet, there are still some secrets, but these will certainly be discovered as time passes.
How To Customize V's Appearance Again
At the start of the game, it's possible to choose V's appearance. This used to be a final decision, once you chose a look you could never go back and edit your character again. It's not uncommon to be able to change appearance multiple times in RPGs, so it's definitely odd that it took this long for it to be a feature.
Fortunately, now you can change V's appearance in Cyberpunk 2077 by going to one of V's houses and approaching the bathroom mirror. Then, interact with the mirror and select the 'Change appearance' option.
There are even some new customization options that weren't in the game before.
Purchasing New Apartments
You can purchase tons of new apartments for V. Well, technically you're renting them, but you only have to make one payment. There are four apartments, and they're all in different areas of Night City.
- Northside, Watson – 5,000 eurodollars
- Japantown, Westbrook – 15,000 eurodollars
- The Glen, Heywood – 40,000 eurodollars
- Corpo Plaza, City Center – 55,000 eurodollars
To buy an apartment, access V's computer and go to the Net tab. Then, in the bottom right corner, select the EZEstates page to rent an apartment. You can rent all four of them at once.
Changing Your Perks And Skill Trees
Perks have been revamped. After updating the game and loading your save, all your perks will be completely reset, and you will have to redistribute them. There are new perks and skill trees so pay close attention when deciding the ones you'd like.
However, if you're not satisfied with your choices afterwards, you can reset them directly from the Character tab, without having to purchase the 100,000 eurodollar-Tabula E-Rasa shard at a Ripperdoc.
New Weapons And Weapon Parts
You might want to visit Wilson down at the 2nd Amendment shop. Not only is he selling new guns (the Darra Polytechnic Umbra power assault rifle and the Budget Arms Guillotine power submachine gun) as well as new weapon parts, such as muzzle brakes and scopes. Wilson will also sell certain weapons at discount prices and with new skins.
If you're not satisfied with what he has to offer you can go to the pause menu and skip time to the next day.
Map Usability Changes
The map has been considerably improved. It's now possible to filter side jobs from main missions and to apply custom filters to find more easily what you're looking for around Night City. Go through them and play with them to decide which ones work best to meet your goal.
On the map, you will also be able to check how many missions you've done for a certain fixer, simply put the cursor on top of the fixer logo and their picture will appear on the screen with the number of missions they have for you.
How To Sell Cyberware
Before patch 1.5, cyberware couldn't be sold and players would have to pointlessly accumulate it even after having improved versions of a certain piece of cyberware. Now players can finally sell all their cyberware at a Ripperdoc.
It's simple, all you have to do is go to a Ripperdoc (which is now easier than ever with the map usability improvement) and approach the doc. Talk to the Ripperdoc as you would normally and then simply select the piece of cyberware you want to sell, select Sell, and press confirm.
Free Next-Gen Trial
With the update, there's a free trial that players next-gen that haven't bought the game can try to see whether this adventure is for them or not. Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players can download the free trial and play the game for a total of five hours.
If you enjoy the trial and decide to get the game once it ends, the saved data will carry on to the full version of Cyberpunk 2077, so that you can keep enjoying your experience without any breaks.
