Cyberpunk 2077: How to watch CD Project Red Night City Wire event

Cyberpunk 2077 is currently one of the most eagerly anticipated of 2020, and CDProjektRed is releasing a steady stream of teasers ahead of the release at the end of the year. Their latest tease comes in the form of an event which will debut this year when E3 would normally take place.

How to watch the Night City Wire event

The Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire live event seeks to replace CD Projekt Red E3 2020 appearance.

The video game convention was set to take place between June 9 to 11 this year and would have included appearances from the biggest developers and organisations in the gaming world.

Night City Wire takes place on what would have been the tail end of the event on June 11.

Night City refers to the game’s setting, an advanced city brimming with crime and opportunity.

CD Projekt Red has unveiled few details about what to expect from the event so far aside from the name and date.

They announced it via the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter account, simply saying “GET READY”.

They also included a TV emoji, suggesting the event will stream live on the day.

The developers will likely air Night City Wire via the same account or their official website.

Any E3-style footage would be the first glimpse of action from the game for several months, the last time being 15-minute gameplay tease in August 2019.

Then, fans caught a glimpse of Night City’s Pacifista District and an unexpected appearance from a Hollywood celebrity.

CD Projekt Red has recruited action hero Keanu Reeves to take on the role of Johnny Silverhand, a central character in the game.

The game is allegedly unaffected by the coronavirus pandemic in its near-complete state and will land on September 17.

Others have not been so lucky, however, including another much-anticipated 2020 entry, the Last of Us Part II.

Developers were forced to cancel it for a third time due to the pandemic this year and recently announced a revised release date.

Naughty Dog Character Concept artist Alexandra Neonakis confirmed the game went “gold” earlier this week, meaning manufacturers are now pressing discs ready for sale.

She said via Twitter: “We went gold! It’s been a wild ride.

“I bawled like a baby during my playthrough just like I did for my final playthrough of tlou.

“I truly believe that fans of this game are gonna love it.

“It’s my personal favorite that I’ve worked on in my years at ND.”
