Bungie has plenty of new features and updates planned for Destiny 2, with fresh rewards coming via Trials of Osiris.

The latest event will be going live today, with the development team promising new Adept weapons and Destiny 2 armour.

Although we won’t know the full line up until later today, we do know that Bungie has big plans for the rest of 2021.

While events like the Trials will continue to offer special rewards for those who can go on a Flawless run, other things are changing.

A new Transmog system is being added to Destiny 2 and is likely to drop during May 2021.

Armour Synthesis won’t be ready for today’s Trials, with new Universal Armor Ornaments options coming soon.

Guardians will need to use the new Synthweave to convert an unlocked armour appearance (Legendary quality or lower) from Collections into a Universal Armor Ornament.

A message from Bungie explains: “To start, players will begin earning Synthstrand when defeating enemies in Destiny 2. After earning 150 Synthstrand, players may visit Ada-1 in the Tower to acquire class-specific bounties, which will reward Synthcord.

“When developing this feature, an early goal was to ensure players could earn Synthweave through numerous activities in Destiny 2.

“That way, players who spend most of their time in the Crucible could continue to do so and still engage with Armor Synthesis. There will be five categories of Armor Synthesis bounties: Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit, Destinations, or Raids and Dungeons.”

It’s unclear how Destiny 2 Trials will be affected by this new system, with more rewards being released today by Bungie.

Trials is one of a number of events that have undergone tweaks and changes since it first launched, with more Guardians playing it during Season of the Chosen following the updates.

And while we don’t know what will be included in the Trials lineup, we do know when it will be best to check it all out.

Destiny 2 fans will see the Crucible event launch at around 6pm BST to find out the latest news, including what map has been selected by Bungie.

We also know that Saint-14 is the full-time Trials of Osiris vendor, residing in the Tower Hangar with his pigeons and ship.

And visiting him will be worth it for those who can smash through the Crucible and score some wins as Saint’s inventory updates with Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

Some things have also stayed the same, with Bungie making sure that the Trials of Osiris playlist becomes active each week from Friday to Tuesday.

The map rotations continue each week, although Bungie has made changes to the weapons you can pick up during an event.

Last week saw Bungie offer the Igneous Hammer Legendary Hand Cannon as a three-win weapon, and the Igneous Hammer Adept as the Flawless reward.

The Guardian Games will also continue, with each class battling it out over the coming weeks for the top spot.

The big reveal will be coming near the end of this week’s Trials event, with news coming on April 27.
