Epic Games Store DOWN: ‘Invalid Client’ login error hits EGS, Fortnite and Rocket League

Epic Games Store down reports have spiked with users of the Steam rival experiencing login issues that are impacting popular games such as Fortnite, Rocket League and more today. Independent outage monitor Down Detector has registered a spike in Epic Games Store down reports, as well as an increased amount of reported issues with other EGS games. At the time of writing Down Detector UK is seen Epic Games Store down reports approach the 1,000 marker, with the majority of reported EGS issues surrounding login.

And as the Epic Games Store issues hit users took to Twitter to report issues with the service they were facing.

One tweeted: “@EpicGames Epic Games launcher + website is down for me. I hope I’m not the only one”.

While another posted: “@EpicGames Server down?”

And one added: “@EpicGames Can not log in. Is the log in down?”

Rocket League teases Llama-Rama Fortnite crossover event

Elsewhere the Fortnite Status Twitter account has alerted fans to the EGS sever issues. The account tweeted: “We are investigating issues where logging into Epic Games accounts fails with the ‘Invalid Client’ error and preventing from logging in to the game.

“We will update you when this issue is resolved”.

While the official Epic Games account also added: “We’re aware of an issue with logging into Epic Games accounts.

“We will update you when this issue is resolved.”

The official Epic Games Store Status website has also been updated with info on the ‘authentication’ issues hitting players.

Around 1.30pm UK time today the Epic Games Store Status website was updated to say: “Players are currently unable to log in to their Epic Games account, Epic Online Services and connecting to games.”

Soon afterwards Epic added another update to say: “We are continuing to investigate this issue.”

According to the EGS Status website the Epic Games Store is experiencing a “partial outage” with authentication for Epic Online Services experiencing a “major outage”.

Rocket League is also experiencing a “major outage” for the login system while Fortnite has also been hit with a “major outage” for login.

Fortnite is also experiencing a “degraded performance” for game services, parties, friends, messaging and matchmaking.
