The Far Cry 6 release time is almost upon, and it won’t be long before fans of the epic franchise are exploring its latest open-world.

Set on the island of Yara, Far Cry 6 pits dictator Antón Castillo and his teenage son Diego against a resistance movement.

And Ubisoft also has big plans for the game’s season pass, with the Far Cry 6 expansion adding three DLC Episodes to the game.

This will include playing the role of Vaas Montenegro, Pagan Min, and Joseph Seed as you delve inside their minds to uncover their backstories, encounter familiar faces and find out what it’s like to become the villain.

But for now, most gamers want to know exactly when they’ll be able to start playing through the base Far Cry 6 experience.

WHAT TIME DOES FAR CRY 6 RELEASE?

The Far Cry 6 release date has been set for Thursday, October 7, and the Far Cry 6 release time has been scheduled for Midnight local time on PS4, Xbox One and next-gen consoles.

PC gamers have to wait a little longer, with the new Far Cry game launching on the Epic Games Store at 5am BST.

It’s also possible to preload the game on most platforms right now so that you can be ready to jump into Far Cry 6 straight away.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that Far Cry 6 will not be released on Valve’s Steam store in 2021 or beyond.

More on the story and setting can be found in the official Far Cry 6 description, which explains: “As Dani Rojas (playable as a female or male character), you will help stoke the fires of revolution through guerrilla warfare across the island of Yara, from verdant jungles to the urban streets of the capital city, Esperanza.

“You’ll use a powerful array of weapons and vehicles, and build a network of allies to fight alongside you, including Fangs for Hire like Chorizo, the dangerously distracting wiener dog. As President Castillo prepares his son Diego, played by Anthony Gonzalez (“Coco”), to succeed him, you will do all you can to ensure his plans don’t come to fruition.”

Ubisoft has also confirmed that players who purchase the game on Xbox One or PS4 will be able to upgrade their version to Xbox Series X or PS5 at no cost.

This helps to future-proof the game and make it possible to play it at higher settings after any next-gen consoles are bought and paid for.

Those who have pre-ordered can also look forward to a number of bonuses, including access to the Libertad pack, boasting the Libertad outfit for Chorizo, and a the Discos Locos, a weaponised disc launcher.
