Marvel supervillain Galactus will be attempting to eat the world of Fortnite today, as Epic Games announce the event’s start time.
The current season of Fortnite is about to come to an end and it looks like it’s going to be Marvel’s giant hat-wearing planet destroyer that’s going to be responsible.
Exactly how he’ll appear may already have been leaked by dataminers, who have discovered his big giant head looming over the island.
The Battle Bus also seems to have been turned into some kind of rocket covered in explosives, which may mean it ends up getting fired at Galactus in order to defeat him.
The Galactus finale is due to start at 9pm GMT but Epic Games has advised that you log in 60 minutes beforehand, to make sure you can get in.
The event play list will go live at 8.30pm, so if you only turn up at the last minute you’re in danger of missing out.
You should also make sure you have the v14.60 update installed first, as you don’t want to be messing around with that instead of watching the big event.
When does Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 start?
Officially, Epic Games hasn’t said when the new season is due to start but it’s seldom more than a few hours after the last one ends.
Season 4 is expected to switch off completely at around 8am GMT on Wednesday, December 2 and with a bit of luck Season 5 will start by the end of the day – or early Thursday at the latest.
An exact start time won’t necessarily be announced tonight though, as getting the servers ready for the new season isn’t an exact science and it’s more a case of it’ll start when it starts.
Is the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5?
The theme for Season 5 isn’t yet known, but rumours suggest that it will focus on original Fortnite characters and won’t just swap the Marvel superheroes for a different licensed universe.
Instead, the focus looks like it’s going to be on promoting the new Fortnite Crew subscription service, which involves a number of original skins and characters.
The Fortnite Winterfest, or an equivalent, will almost certainly be part of the season, with the Christmas tie-in expected to start about a week before the big day.
However, leaks revealed that the Mandalorian and Baby Yoda are going to be in the next season, probably as an unlockable skin similar to Aquaman from Season 3.
