Fortnite fans can download a brand new update on PC, PS4, PS5 and Android devices.
Fortnite update 3.31 comes as something of a surprise, launching just a few days after the start of Season 8.
The update is currently available on PlayStation, Android and PC, but will release on Nintendo Switch and Xbox devices later this week. If not today, then expect the update to drop on Friday, September 17.
According to the patch notes, the new update doesn’t introduce any new gameplay features, but instead makes some general stability improvements.
On the plus side, the new update doesn’t require any server downtime, so you can jump back in once downloaded and installed.
As you can see from the patch notes below, the update also fixes the funding progress visual issue, and the problem with Creative keybinds.
“We have deployed a maintenance patch on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Android to address stability issues, the funding progress visual issue, and the Creative keybinds resetting to default issue.
“This patch will be available to download before launching your game. We will let you know when this patch is available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles.”
Fortnite Season 8 launched at the beginning of the week, just a few hours after the end of Season 7 event.
The event saw players infiltrate a giant UFO, where they were double crossed and presented with countless Cubes.
Needless to say, the new Fortnite season makes a whole host of changes to the game, including the addition of a brand new Battle Pass.
The headline new Battle Pass rewards are the new selection of unlockable skins, beginning with Charlotte.
Wielding a possessed sword, Charlotte is described as a “transforming, monster slaying teen”.
Other Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass skins include Torin, J.B. Chimpanski, Kor, and Fabio Sparklemane.
There’s also a new cartoon skin, as Toona Fish joins Fortnite in Season 8. The Fortnite Season 8 level 100 skin is Carnage from the Spider-Man universe.
This season’s secret skin is yet to be revealed, although it appears to be an original design, not another guest skin.
