GAME has once again opened a queue for PS5 orders, with fans facing lengthy waits of over an hour to try and secure a PS5 console. Earlier this week GAME had a big PS5 restock, which dropped in two waves with plenty of bundles available for fans to order. And following on from that major restock GAME has once again opened a queue for PS5 orders, which went live around 12.30pm UK time on Wednesday January 20.
Some PS5 fans have said they’ve already got to the end of the GAME queue and managed to place a PS5 order, while others have said they’re still stuck in it.
Tweeting about the latest GAME PS5 restock the @PS5StockAlertUK Twitter posted: “Guys for GAME UK go for the bundles. The stand alone editions will not be in stock. If you click a bundle and it says out of stock, go back to the bundles page and try the next bundle and so on until eventually you will find a bundle in stock. Just some advice for next time!”
This week has seen plenty of PS5 restocks go live, with some lasting longer than others.
After Smyths Toys launched a blink and you’ll miss it PS5 drop last week, this week has seen GAME, John Lewis, Currys PC World and ShopTo all get PS5 restocks, with some lasting longer than others.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
The biggest PS5 stocks so far have been the GAME restocks. While Smyths Toys sold out their PS5 stock in a minute, the GAME restocks that went live on Tuesday lasted for much longer.
The first GAME restock which went live around 10am GMT lasted for over 40 minutes, while the second restock lasted for over 20 minutes.
We’ll have to wait and see how long the latest GAME restock lasts.
Elsewhere, today has also seen PS5 stock go live at Currys PC World – with the Currys website currently down (at the time of writing) after the PS5 restock went live.
While AO.com also received a PS5 restock today, which went live momentarily before orders were put on pause.
There are also rumours that Argos, Amazon and Very could all get PS5 restocks soon as well. While BT and EE customers are rumoured to be getting a chance to order a PS5 soon as well.
The PS5 first launched back in November, and since then has been extremely hard to come by – with stock selling out at lightning fast speeds.
This week has turned into the best time to order a PS5 since launch, with plenty of restocks becoming available.
However, it still has been extremely tough for PS5 fans to place an order – and that’s not just because of the high demand from fans.
In recent days one scalper bot firm has been gloating about the amount of console orders they managed to secure.
From GAME alone those running the scalper bot said the automated bot was able to place over 2,000 orders of the PS5, with the same firm also saying they secured over 100 orders from Smyths last week.
This news sparked anger among the PS5 fanbase, especially those that have been trying hard for months to order a console without having any joy.
GAME has since issued a statement saying they will be ensuring each order for the PS5 is one per customer.
Speaking to VGC a GAME spokesperson said: “PlayStation 5’s continue to be in very high demand and that demand far outweighs current supply. We have strong measures in place to help ensure that our ‘1 per customer’ statement is maintained to allow for as many individual customers to successfully purchase as possible.
“All pre-orders are subject to automatic checks and order updates such as cancellations following these checks take place after a customer will have received a valid order confirmation email. At the present time these orders are still pre-orders and as such no payments have yet been taken from customers. Payments will commence once our order checks have been completed.”
