Genshin Impact: PlayStation release thrilling gameplay trailer

Developers Mihoyo are busily putting together the final touches to Genshin Impact 2.2, the game’s latest expansion.

In just a few days, gamers will be able to explore the latest content, including the last of the six major islands of Inazuma.

Tsurumi Island is billed as the toughest for explorers to conquer, with dense fog that envelops the entire island a strong deterrent to outsiders.

Genshin fans will have to find their own way in, with the fog causing issues when it comes to navigating the new locations and points of interest.

A message from Mihoyo adds: “New monstrous beasts also lurk in the gloomy mist. The Rifthounds and the Rifthound Whelps are stealthy monsters from the Abyss which can turn invisible, sneaking around for the best opportunity to land a strike in combat.

“Both the Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps have Electro or Geo attributes. But what makes this species really dangerous is their ability to apply the Corrosion status to enemies.

“When an attack hits a character, all party members will be affected by the Corrosion status and continually lose HP regardless if they’re shielded or not. So beware of the hounds.”

WHEN IS THE NEXT GENSHIN IMPACT BANNER?

A new Genshin Impact Banner is behind held as part of the launch of the new 2.2 update.

Developers Mihoyo has confirmed that the Childe Banner will start on October 13, with the next patch expected to be available to download by around 4am BST.

Another re-run is also being planned, however, Hu Tao will not be returning to the game until November 2021.

The big news is that Hu Tao will be back in Genshin Impact alongside a new four-star character, described as:

“Renowned as the “fixer” in Inazuma, Thoma is also a reliable teammate in combat, providing strong defense and buffs.

“Thoma wields a polearm and holds a Pyro Vision. His Elemental Skill Blazing Blessing can deal AoE Pyro Damage, apply Pyro to himself, and summons a defensive Blazing Barrier. When the Blazing Barrier is active, the amount of Damage Absorption it takes can stack if another Blazing Barrier is obtained again, refreshing its duration as well.

“With his Elemental Burst “Crimson Ooyoroi”, Thoma can help his teammates deal additional Pyro Damage to enemies. He even has a special Talent which grants successful fishing attempts in Inazuma a 20% chance of scoring a double catch.”

There’s a good chance that there will be Genshin Impact maintenance on October 12, which will last several hours and will be followed by the launch of the new 2.2 update.

Mihoyo is expected to share more information regarding the next big patch for the game on Monday, October 11.

This will include further details on what to expect for Genshin on PS4, PS5, Mobile and PC in the near future.
