GTA Online: The Doomsday Heist Act Two Guide

You’ve managed to complete act one of GTA Online’s Doomsday Heist, and now you’re ready to take on act two. Or are you? This act is where the difficulty start to ramp up, so you might need some guidance to make it through the finale and be able to move on to the final act of the Doomsday Heist.

While act one was all about collecting data, act two, titled The Bodgan Problem, raises the stakes to preventing all out war. Stealth will be much less of a factor for these missions, and the level of difficulty has only gone up. You and your team will need to utilize every type of vehicle to complete these missions across land, sea, and air if you want to make it out alive.

How To Beat GTA Online Doomsday Heist Act Two

Starting back at the facility you and your team will get another quick cutscene to set the stage for this act before the planning screen pops up with all new objectives. Act two has five prep missions, four setups, and the finale. They start out simple enough, but get more complex the further in you get.

Keycards Prep Mission

All you and your crew need to do to accomplish this prep mission is steal a riot van that has the keycards used to open the hangar doors at the Los Santos airport. You’ll start off heading to a gas station in the middle of a shootout between the police and some thieves. Use the confusion to grab the van, making sure to stay clear of the explosive gas station, lose the cops, and make it back to base.

Avenger Setup Mission

Now that you’ve got the keycards, its time to use them to grab yourselves an Avenger. Be ready with armor, health, and ammo before you enter the hangar because not only are there enemies that will shoot at you from all angles, but the lights will get cut and you’ll have to fight in the dark. Switch on your night vision and move from cover to cover, advancing only when you’ve cleared out a safe path. Keep picking off targets until there are none left.

Once the hangar is clear you can climb up to the roof to get the generators started, keeping an eye out for the enemy reinforcements coming in, and then get back inside to fly your brand new Avenger to the marked location.

ULP Intel Prep Mission

This is a nice and short mission to gather information on where Agent ULP is being held prisoner. To do this you first need to track down an IAA agent to his apartment by hunting down some drug dealers around the map. Once there, kill a few more dealers inside, snag the bag with the intel you’re after, and run it back to base.

Rescue ULP Setup Mission

This mission will split your squad into two teams, and will be another one where you’re going to want to be stocked up for a big firefight. Pile into a vehicle – something armored is recommended – and drive over to the Grand Banks Courtyard. Take out everyone outside first so team one can go inside while team two sets up outside to make sure no reinforcements follow after them.

Team one should slowly move forward, clearing one area at a time from cover, while team two does their best to keep their flank clear. Once team one reaches the agent you will need to make a clean shot on the man holding him hostage to save him and escort him back the way you came. Get back outside, clear the area one more time so the agent doesn’t get killed in the crossfire, and jump in your armored car.

You’ll be pursued by other armored cars on your way to drop of the agent, so have sticky or proximity bombs ready to get them off your tail fast. Just make sure you don’t blow yourselves up too. The mission will complete as soon as you arrive at the drop off point.

Riot Control Van Prep

The objective for this mission sounds like chaotic fun, and it is, but is also very dangerous. You’re tasked with starting a riot to draw out a Riot Control Van you can hijack. To get the riot started just head to the indicated spot and start throwing tear gas and punches. You can’t kill anyone here, so stick to your fists until the van shows up. Once you see or hear it coming, separate yourself from the riot to avoid getting hosed down and grab the van. Lose the cops however you can and get back to base.

Salvage Hard Drives Setup

This mission is where many people struggle, but there’s a few tricks your team can use to help things go smoothly. Your entire team is going to be in the Riot Control Van and need to use the water cannons on top to stop some Russians from destroying hard drives in four locations. No matter what, no member of your team should exit the van before all the enemies are killed at each location.

When you roll up to any of the spots you should prioritize dowsing the flaming cars first. Once those are safe, start spraying all the enemies into the pavement while other members of your team take shots from the safety of the van. Only once its clear should one person hop out to collect the hard drives. Reinforcements will come while they’re doing this, so try and use the van itself as a wall to protect your teammate on foot.

The process is essentially the same for all sites, though they will be better guarded each time. Just make sure to always put the fires out first in each spot. Once the last of the fires is out, the timer will stop and you can take your time completing the rest of the mission.

Stormbergs Prep Mission

You’re going after trucks carrying Stormbergs for this prep mission, but out of the six trucks you will have marked on your map, only four will actually be carrying the Stormbergs. This can be done quick and easy with a couple of helicopters. Simply fly over the trucks, find the ones you’re after, and land in front of them to make them stop. From there all you need to do is take out the drivers and bring the trucks back to your facility.

Torpedo ECU Prep Mission

Unlike stealing trucks, stealing torpedo control units will not be so simple. Again, having a helicopter or other flying vehicle will make this mission much easier since you’re attacking a barge out at sea. If you don’t have one you’ll need to make due with jet skis.

Take out the enemy helicopters and foot soldiers from the air before landing to collect the ECUs. Each player can only pick up one, so send at least two down to grab them. After that you just need to either destroy or escape a couple more enemy choppers that will try to stop you and make it back to base.

Submarine Recon Setup

The last mission before the finale might actually be the easiest one in act two. All you have to do is take your brand new Stormbergs down to North Chumash and wipe out a convoy. Your missiles alone should make this a cakewalk. From there drive into Paleto Cove, going into submersible mode, and scan the submarine. Just make sure to not pilot yourself into any mines on the way. Scan all three points, get yourselves back on dry land, and get to the drop off point before the timer runs out.

The Act Two Finale

Once again you and your squad will need to divide into two teams here. Once team will take to the skies while the other dives below the sea.

Team one will be in the Avenger’s gunner seats after turning on the autopilot and have to wipe out waves of helicopters. As long as you’re positioned well, higher up is better, you should have little to worry about.

Team two has a more difficult job. They need to infiltrate the submarine, clearing a bunch of guards in tight corridors. Work your way forward, down two separate staircases, and then take a right at a fork. You’ll find the Russian contact here with just one man guarding him. Shoot the guard and get the information out of the contact by pointing your weapons at him.

Team two then needs to go back up to a control type room filled with consoles to photograph the intel table and interact with one of the consoles to start a cutscene. Once it ends you will be placed outside the submarine and need to swim to shore where team one can land to pick you up. A couple more helicopters will try and stop you, but give up once you make it far enough away.

Make a nice, safe landing in Devin Weston’s hangar to wrap up the finale of act two of the Doomsday Heist. Only one final act remains.
