However, its latest event — the Super Adventure Box Festival — is sure to be a game-changer. The coolest celebration in the entire MMORPG world returns to Tyria, bringing with it a pixelized wonderland.
One of the most unique parts of Guild Wars 2 is that portions of it are heavily influenced by — of all things — platforming games. Many viewpoints and vistas require precise jumping skills, and players are handsomely rewarding for their Mario-esque efforts. The Super Adventure Box Festival takes that to new heights, as the limited event revolves around jumping puzzles and exploration. You’ll be rewarded with some exclusive gifts for taking the time out of your day to partake in the festivities and — judging by the official announcement — they look pretty dang awesome.
Players also have the chance to purchase a ridiculously cool raptor skin for their mount, allowing them to explore the world in style. If you haven’t played Guild Wars 2 in a while, now is a great time to jump back into the free-to-play title.
The festivities end on May 12, so you’ve got plenty of time to check out one of the weirdest events in MMO history.
