Here's Our First Look At The Bottom Of The Xbox Series X

Microsoft just announced the price and release date for the Xbox Series X and Series S, and the consoles’ launch lineup is beginning to take shape. But have you ever wondered what the bottom of an Xbox Series X looks like?

Well, BAM, there it is.

Internet super sleuth Wario64 recently spotted the box art for the Series X, which prominently features the console’s cooling vents, along with logos and information on its 1TB SSD and display options for 4K/120FPS. More importantly, however, is the follow-up tweet that reveals the console’s “butt.”

All joking aside, the bottom of the Series X doesn’t look quite as expected. Rather than sitting on small legs at each of the four corners, there’s a circular base acting as a stand if you want to position the console vertically. Microsoft has confirmed that you can lay the Series X down on its side, and there are pictures of this, but they all neglect to show the bottom. Presumably, the circular stand can be removed if you’re not using it, otherwise it’s a bit of an eyesore. But we won’t know for sure until we get our hands on the console.

Preorders for the Xbox Series X ($500 USD) and Xbox Series S ($300 USD) begin on September 22, and you can find out all the important details in GameSpot’s Xbox preorder guide.

Both consoles are scheduled to arrive on November 10. In addition to buying them outright, Microsoft is offering a payment plan known as Xbox All Access where you can get the Series S with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $25/month or the Xbox Series X with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $35/month. You’ll end up saving some money going this route over the two years, so check out our breakdown on how Xbox All Access works.
