Plenty of changes have been made in Call of Duty this week, including a reduction in size for Warzone and Modern Warfare.
Warzone now boasts a new Killstreak that can be found from specific locations in Verdansk, a new sniper to unlock during the rest of Season 2, and a subtle weapons tuning for the AUG.
But what has caught the eye of some gamers today is the surprise new content update for Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
Expected to be just a patch for Warzone and Cold War, today’s update has also made changes in Modern Warfare.
According to fans logging in today, Modern Warfare now includes the Killhouse map, which is running as part of the Killhouse 24/7 playlist.
The new content has also arrived with other maps, with the Al-Raab Airbase 6v6 map and Drainage Gunfight experience also available to play.
What makes this all a little surprising is that Activision has not mentioned the new content in the latest Cold War patch notes.

Modern Warfare is a game that proved very popular with fans when it was first released but has since been replaced by Black Ops: Cold War.
It would make sense that developers Infinity Ward wouldn’t make a huge fuss about the new rollout, but it’s strange that no full announcement has been made.
The Modern Warfare Twitter account has not shared any news on the new content, but there’s a chance some mention will be made in the coming hours.
Today’s update also contained a lot of changes for all three Call of Duty games from a technical standpoint.
Activision has made a push to reduce the size of Warzone and Modern Warfare, telling gamers earlier this week:
“Enhancements to the overall content management system has been made possible through data optimization and streamlining content packs needed for individual game modes.

“This will come after a larger than usual, one-time update for Season Two Reloaded, which will include these optimizations and is necessary in order to reduce the overall footprint; future patch sizes for Modern Warfare and Warzone are expected to be smaller than the one set to release on March 30 at 11PM PST.
“Along with the ability to remove individual modes that are no longer played, owners of the full Modern Warfare experience will see more space freed on their platform of choice.
“However, those who want to continue playing Campaign, Multiplayer, and/or Special Ops will need to reinstall the optimized Content Packs, which will be released alongside and shortly after the Season Two Reloaded update.”
