Ludosity has confirmed that it will show off what's coming in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl's next update on February 3, and it absolutely includes Shredder as a new character.
It's been a quiet month for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. After Garfield launched in December, fans were told that the game's next update was coming soon and that a roadmap had been planned out for more content, including voice acting and even more DLC characters. Despite this momentum, Ludosity remained quiet for most of December and January about any upcoming updates.
The official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Twitter account shared an image of the character select screen, saying, "Tune into IGN on February 3 for a big Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl update!", clearly hinting at a new character being added. The three selected characters are Leonardo, Michelangelo, and April, with the final slot unselected. Subtle.
Thaddeus Crews, character designer and programmer for All-Star Brawl, also Tweeted about the update, saying, "While the wait was longer than I think anyone was expecting, I'm thrilled for the work we've all been putting in to be shown off! I know it's been more of a quiet spell on my end for the game which was disappointing, so I'm hoping this will help me pivot back to blabbering."
The community has taken this as a hint that voice acting is going to be teased in this upcoming showcase, something which is backed up by the fact that this is referred to as an overall reveal and not just a character showcase.
Despite the long wait for information, it's already well-known that Shredder is the next post-launch character being added to the game. When Nick Brawl launched, both Garfield and Shredder were datamined, giving players a look at all of their moves and a look at their stages. Garfield's moves and stage were both nearly finished, while Shredder's were clearly needing more time, making it clear that he'd be released some time after Garfield.
