Overwatch Terror is back on the menu in 2021, with Blizzard confirming its plans to bring back all the limited-time modes and skins.

PS4, Xbox One and PC gamers will only be waiting a few more days before they can jump back into the action, with the Overwatch Halloween Terror release date set for Tuesday, October 12.

As usual, Blizzard is bringing back the limited-time modes of Junkenstein’s Revenge and Junkenstein’s Endless.

This means defending Adlersbrunn from the devious Dr Junkenstein and his dreadful creations, and it’s possible that a few fresh characters could be added to the mix.

At least five new Halloween skins are expected to be added to loot boxes in 2021, with a short trailer confirming that Roadhog will be dressing up as a horrifying clown.

The Halloween Terror is expected to kick off at around 7pm BST across PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms.

More skin reveals are expected over the coming days, but Blizzard only has a very limited window to reveal everything they have planned.

Some of the new Overwatch skins are expected to be available via loot boxes, while others will be tied to exclusive weekly challenges.

These will only be available for a certain time and will be replaced by others as the event continues throughout October.

The description from the 2020 event explains: “Celebrate this frightful season with Halloween Terror Loot Boxes, filled with new skins, highlight intros, player icons, sprays, and more. Items from previous years’ Halloween Terror events are also available. Receive 10 bonus Halloween loot boxes when you purchase 50. Don’t wait too long, though—like most things that go bump in the night, these Loot Boxes will disappear before you know it.”

Overwatch events have dialed back the level of new content following the announcement of Overwatch 2.

This has led to most seasonal events only include new skins and cosmetics, rather than maps and modes.

However, with Overwatch 2 expected to arrive in Spring 2022, there’s a chance that Halloween Terror could undergo a serious revamp next year.
