Persona 5 Royal: Strength Confidant Fusion Guide

Of all the confidants in Persona 5, the Strength confidant— represented by the Velvet Room Twins— has been the most unique in that the ranks aren’t earned by story progression or spending time with them, but by fulfilling certain fusion tasks they assign to you.

Well, the Twins are back in Persona 5 Royal, just as cute and vaguely threatening as ever, though their requests have been revamped somewhat.

Their confidant becomes available when you visit the Velvet Room at any point after 5/18, at which point they’ll assign you a fusion task for your rehabilitation. Completing the task will unlock the confidant in earnest, earning you some serious perks while using the Velvet Room.

Rank 1: Jack Frost with Mabufu

  • Jack Frost learns this skill naturally at level 12. You can pick him up in Madarame’s Palace or the Path of Chemdah on levels 3 and 4.
  • Alternatively, you can fuse Kelpie/Succubus or Silkie/Berith to get him.

Rank 2: Ame-no-Uzume with Frei

  • Suzaku has Frei naturally and can be fused with Berith.
  • Alternatively, you can get a Frei skill card from itemizing Makami or as a reward for taking the Twins to the movie theatre (second special outing, available from 6/7 onwards). You can simply use this after fusing Cait Sith/Succubus.

Rank 3: Flauros with Tarukaja

  • Eligor knows it innately. Simply pass it on during the Berith/Orobas/Eligor triple fusion.

Rank 4: Phoenix with Counter

  • Yaksini knows Counter innately and can be fused with Genbu.

Rank 5: Setanta with Rakukaja

  • Berith knows Rakukaja innately— fuse him with Hua Po and pass it onto the resulting Suzaku, who then can be fused with Phoenix for a Setanta.
  • Alternatively, Lamia knows it innately and can be fused with Asparas.

Rank 6: Neko Shogun with Dekaja

  • Get Anzu to level 28 to learn Dekaja before using him in the Anzu/Kodama/Sudama triple fusion.
  • Alternatively, Orobas knows it innately and can be fused with High Pixie to make a Sudama.

Rank 7: Lacheisis with Tetraja

  • Principality knows it innately. Fuse it with Sandman to pass it onto Thoth, then fuse Thoth with Anzu.
  • Alternatively, Clotho learns it at level 28— fuse it with Regent. Beware: a Clotho over level 34 fused with Regent will not result in a Lacheisis.

Rank 8: Hecatoncheires with Masukunda

  • Lilim learns it at level 34— fuse it with Anzu.

Rank 9: Bugs with Samarecarm

  • Get Hariti to level 41 to learn it before using it in the Hariti/Pixie/Pisaca triple fusion.
  • Alternatively, you can get the skill card from the Twins after taking them to the Kanda church (4th outing, available after 6/25)

Rank 10: Seth with High Counter

  • Get Dakini to level 52 to learn it, then fuse it with Ame-no-Uzume for an Anubis to use in the Anubis/Horus/Isis/Thoth group fusion.
  • Alternatively, you can earn the High Counter skill card from a Mementos mission given to you by Mishima on 10/14, or get it from the Twins after taking them to Leblanc (11th outing, available after 11/25)

One final note: don’t forget to register the assignment persona with the requested skill in your compendium so you can breeze through this confidant in NG+!
