Fans of Pokemon The Trading Card Game can now purchase Celebration packs.

To commemorate the Trading Card Game’s 25-year anniversary, The Pokemon Company has released a selection of new sets and packs.

Available from today (October 8), the latest expansion is said to “play off 25 years of nostalgia with fierce Pokemon, stunning art, and evolving strategies”.

The Pokemon Company explains more: “Every Pokemon TCG expansion is unique, but the Pokemon TCG: Celebrations Collection takes extraordinary to another level.

“Featuring a Classic Collection in addition to other exciting cards, this expansion features a celebratory parade of cards you won’t find anywhere else.

“Celebrate 25 years of Pokemon with a collection that highlights some of the game’s most memorable moments and Pokemon.”

Special Celebration sets include the Elite Trainer Box 25th Anniversary Edition, which is available from Smyths for £52.49.

The bumper card pack includes various card booster packs, a foil card, 65 card sleeves, 45 energy cards, a player’s guide, a rulebook, six damage counter dice, one coin flip die, two acrylic condition markers, a collector’s box and a code card.

Slightly cheaper is the Pikachu-themed Deluxe Pin Box, which can be picked up from Smyths for £21.99.

“Celebrate Pokemon with the world-famous Pikachu, taking to the waves and the skies on a special pin to commemorate 25 years of good times and great adventures!

“This well-loved icon of the Pokemon world is part of an amazing collection that includes a special promo card featuring Zacian LV.X, a handful of Pokemon TCG: Celebration’s booster packs, and more.

Other items include Charizard, Dark Sylveon and Dragapult Prime Collections, as well as a Collector’s Chest, Mini Tins and much more.

Needless to say, you can also buy individual card packs from high-street retailers across the country.

Speaking of Pokemon, Nintendo is just a few months away from releasing Nintendo Switch remakes of Diamond and Pearl.

The upcoming Pokemon games are based on the Nintendo DS releases of the same name.
