PS Plus August 2020: PS4 free games news as Sony fans share PlayStation predictions

The new PS Plus free games for August 2020 are expected to be announced in the coming days by Sony. While we can’t be 100 percent sure when the news will be shared by Sony – due to a recent change in the announcement schedule – we can make a solid prediction. Based on how the tech giant has handled the majority of its PS Plus news, we would expect the August 2020 free PS4 games to be announced at 4.30pm on July 29. The new titles announced for PlayStation Plus will be available to download less than a week later, on August 4.

But gamers will want to keep an eye out for any surprise announcements, as there have been quite a few over recent months.

Call of Duty WW2 got an early release on PS Plus to commemorate Memorial Day, while the July 2020 line-up was revealed on the exact ten-year anniversary of the PlayStation Plus launch.

Meanwhile, it wouldn’t be surprising for the August 2020 PS Plus news to go back to the normal format.

So far, there have been no leaks or hints to suggest what new free PS4 games will be arriving in the coming weeks.

There are so many titles to choose from that it becomes impossible to work out what might be coming next.

Sony has a decent track record of offering a mix of games, some of which have been first-party exclusives.

And PS Plus subscribers are offering their own prediction for what new PS4 games will be added to the collection next month.

There’s an ongoing joke among the community that Sony only picks games that you have recently purchased for its next lineup.

This has led some PS4 owners to predict the likes of God of War and Grand Turismo Sport as being part of the August reveal.

Others are sticking to games like Dark Souls Remastered, Resident Evil 7 and Assassin’s Creed titles.

One user posted a PlayStation Plus prediction including The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series and Tekken 7, which has caught the eye of fans.

“If you’re right, I am deleting my account. Just bought twd telltale definitive series! So I’m warning you,” one user replied.

Another adds: “I’d be very happy with this. I love Tekken and both of those games are easy Platinums.

“I already have the platinum for Tekken but I really liked the game. And as I already played every TWD season individually, I never bought the definitive series. So I’d love it if that happened too.

“Never played seasons 3 or 4 of TWD, so that’d be pretty cool. I needed to get my heart ripped apart.”

Other predictions include Marvel’s Spider-Man, Dead Cells, Dying Light, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Just Cause 4.
