An insider has been able to test the PS5’s new gamepad and found it has almost twice the battery capacity of the DualShock 4.
The PlayStation 5 may have been the most successful console by far this generation, but it didn’t get everything right, especially when it came to its controller.
The DualShock 4 is an improvement on previous models but many have been arguing that the whole design needs to be overhauled, which is exactly what the PlayStation 5’s DualSense seems to do – that and drastically increase the battery life.
Battery life on the DualShock 4 is pretty bad but a preliminary examination of the DualSense. by Twitter user Galaxy666. suggests the next gen controller is around twice as good.
Galaxy666 apparently works at an accessory manufacturer who has both Sony and Microsoft as a client and, to be honest, they’ll be lucky to keep their job once anyone sees all this.
Answering questions on Twitter, they added that the, ‘buttons are more pleasant to press than PlayStation 4’ and ‘there are no lights on any buttons’.
They also added that the controller is ‘much more pleasant and comfortable than the DualShock 4, you won’t be disappointed. The feedback is magical, the triggers’ inside mechanical structures seems very complex’.
