Shroud Is Coming Back To Twitch

Streamer Michael Grzesiek, aka Shroud, has revealed his post-Mixer plans: he’s heading back to Twitch. Grzesiek tweeted a video that incorporated the kill montages he’d previously posted that heavily featured the tagline “I’m coming home.” Both the Twitch logo and his channel URL were included in the video and tweet itself.

Grzesiek, like Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, had signed an exclusivity agreement with Microsoft’s now-defunct streaming platform, Mixer, and it had been unclear what his next move would be after it went under. Given the amount of Valorant content in his first set of kill montages, there was speculation that he might be getting back into the pro scene with Riot’s latest shooter–Grzesiek did get his start as a professional CSGO player, but now it’s clear that he’s sticking with streaming, and going back to the place that started it all.

Though Grzesiek apparently did look into both Facebook Gaming and YouTube as possible new homes for his streaming content, he ultimately went with Twitch because he felt his old stomping grounds were still his best option.

“As I was exploring options, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to engage with the best and most loyal gaming community worldwide,” he said in a statement.

Despite having been off Twitch for 10 months now, Grzesiek still has over 7 million followers on the streaming platform, and the comments on his tweet show that many are excited for his return. Twitch is certainly happy, as SVP of Content at Twitch Michael Aragon said in a statement: “There’s nothing better than a homecoming, so we’re thrilled to welcome Shroud and his incredible community back to Twitch.” The length of Grzesiek’s deal and the financial details surrounding it have not been released, but Grzesiek did say that his channel would be coming back with a new look and logo.
