Space Jam: A New Legacy Recreates Famous LeBron And D Wade Dunk With Lola Bunny

After waiting over 20 years, we are finally getting a new Space Jam movie. The first trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy was released on April 3, and we were blessed with the LeBron and Dwayne Wade dunk recreated with Lola Bunny. Yes, it really has been over 20 years since the first Space Jam came out in 1996, and it makes us feel old.

Way back in 2014, Warner Brothers first announced a new Space Jam movie featuring LeBron James. It’s been a while, but the time has finally come. If you haven’t seen the trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy, be sure to check it out. It’s full of Easter Eggs from other Warner Brother’s movies, like The Matrix, A Clockwork Orange, and even Game of Thrones. The movie is set to release on July 16, so we only have a few months before it’s here.

At around the two-minute mark of the trailer, you can see a recreation of the Lebron and Dwayne Wade dunk done by LeBron and Lola Bunny. Twitter user HoodieLBJ was quick to point this out after watching the trailer and included a picture of the original dunk as well. It’s hard to deny that Lola Bunny looks epic in this scene.

The original dunk was a little different than this recreation though. This was taken when LeBron played for the Miami Heat. During a game against the Milwaukee Bucks, LeBron caught a pass from Dwayne Wade. Before the dunk actually happened, Dwayne Wade was celebrating and that’s when the picture was taken. Rather than going through with the dunk in Space Jam: A New Legacy, Lebron slams into a wall. It may not be as cool, but it definitely feels special for basketball fans to see this iconic moment recreated.

If you’ve stayed up to date on Space Jam news, you may have also heard the debate behind Lola Bunny’s new character design. Lola Bunny has been a fan favorite, and was even voted “most attractive cartoon character across the world.” Some people think that the new Lola Bunny isn’t as ‘sexy,’ although she is still just a cartoon rabbit. It may be a bit strange to over-sexualize a cartoon, but the designers of Lola Bunny added this ‘sexiness’ on purpose. Because of this, it’s easy to see why people are arguing over her new character design. Regardless of what Lola Bunny looks like, she still definitely captures our attention in the trailer.
