As we all know, the filming for The Witcher Season 2 started back in February 2020, but it was delayed due to the pandemic. Luckily, the filming resumed again last summer. New cast members for season 2 include Yasen Atour as the witcher Coen and Agnes Bjorn as the bruxa Vereena, among many others who will be joining. As of today, we’ve now gotten a glimpse into The Witcher season 2 through a new trailer. However, it was painfully short, clocking in at about ten seconds.
The trailer did not depict the clearest scene as to what’s going on, but we can clearly see a somewhat older Ciri. It’s safe to guess that Geralt will begin training Ciri in Kaer Morhen in season 2, as we saw them meet up right at the end of the first season. But in this brief trailer, all we can really get out of it is Ciri saying that she needs to understand something, someone saying the word “danger,” and a woman’s voice that shouts, “No, Geralt!” Accompanying the audio is a rapid flash of different images.
Though we are stoked to get more content for season 2, this isn’t a ton to go off. At the very least though, this has boosted the excitement of Witcher fans everywhere. Season 2 still does not have an official release date, but we’re hoping to hear more about it sometime this year.
What’s debatably even more exciting though is the announcement of WitcherCon, an event that will be dedicated to all things related to Witcher. Netflix and CD Projekt Red have teamed up to bring us this awesome event. “We teamed up with [Netflix] to bring the world of The Witcher into your homes,” CD Projekt Red explains. “Power up your megascopes on July 9 and join us for an epic online celebration of the franchise.” Witchercon will be taking place on July 9 this year, and it will include interactive panels featuring people who worked on the gam and Netflix series.
