This week in Fortnite: evidence has surfaced hinting that Season 2 could be extended, and that when it eventually does come to an end, a Doomsday event could be to blame.
Last week, Fortnite had what might have been its most exciting week yet, since disappearing into a black hole. Deadpool finally arrived, as did the Kingsman Umbrella and Crashpads. This week, not so much. The past seven days on the island have been more about what’s about to come rather than what’s happening now.
Take Fortnite‘s next Doomsday event, for example. Data miners have discovered three different items in Fortnite‘s code that suggest the island might be coming to an end all over again. A door, a device, and a hatch. As to what these items do, where they will appear, or what might be behind them – right now, that is anyone’s guess.
It might also be a while before we see any of them in action too. There is evidence to suggest that the end of Season 2 could come later than players originally thought. Understandable, considering the circumstances in the world outside Fortnite right now. However, if Season 2 is going to be as long as Season 1, Epic needs to throw a few more special events our way to keep players from becoming disinterested.
