A new month always brings a new batch of free games for subscribers to services like PlayStation Plus and Games with Gold, and anyone who’s signed up for Amazon Prime can look forward to free monthly games and loot as well. Twitch Prime, a membership included with every Amazon Prime subscription, has announced its latest batch of free games for June 2020, and they’re available to claim now.
The star of June’s freebies is definitely Observer, a first-person psychological horror game from Bloober Team, the developers of Layers of Fear and Blair Witch. Observer is set in the year 2084 in Krakow, Poland, where you’ll play as a detective who is able to hack into people’s minds (whether they’re alive or dead) to find clues and solve crimes. The game earned an impressive 9/10 in GameSpot’s Observer review for its haunting atmosphere, incredible cyberpunk storytelling, and inventive sound design.
“Cyberpunk is a reflection of where we’re headed as a society, an oddly alluring reality where we’ve allowed impressive technology into our lives at the cost of our humanity,” wrote critic David Rayfield. “This is a niche genre that needs new revisions and new pioneers so it can keep evolving as we inch closer to seeing its fictional warnings play out in real life, and Observer adds to the familiar parables in fascinating and unexpected ways. In that respect, and on so many other levels, Observer is a haunting and remarkable achievement.”
June’s free games also include The Flame in the Flood, a “unique and absorbing” survival game that earned an 8/10 in GameSpot’s review for its beautiful art direction, excellent Americana soundtrack, and more. You can also claim Forsaken Remastered, a first-person shooter set on a distant-future Earth that’s been destroyed and left for mercenaries to salvage its remains. While we haven’t reviewed the remastered version that released in 2018, the original Forsaken earned an 8.9/10 in GameSpot’s Forsaken review. Also up for grabs are Steel Rats, a 2.5D action arcade game, and Project Warlock, a first-person shooter with pixel-art visuals.
Twitch also announced on Twitter that the humorous and heart-warming dating sim Dream Daddy will be free in June for Prime members as part of its Prime Month celebrations. It’s free to claim now until July 3. More bonus free games will be coming throughout the month. PictoQuest is also free to claim now, with Mad Tracks and Reus as planned freebies later in the month.
Twitch Prime also recently announced it’s giving away more than 20 free SNK games throughout the summer, and the first seven games are available now, including Art of Fighting 2, Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Shodown II, and more.
As usual, there’s plenty of free in-game loot to claim throughout June as well, such as exclusive skins for Loba and Gibraltar in Apex Legends, a Mullet Slayer Master Collection for Doom Eternal, and the Prospector Exotic Bundle for Destiny 2.
Below, you can check out all the free games available right now as well as some of the best free in-game loot you can claim in June. To claim any of the free stuff at Twitch, you need an active Amazon Prime subscription, which costs $119/year or $13/month. You can always sign up for a 30-day free trial if you’re a new subscriber.
