Windbound Takes A Page Out Of Breath Of The Wild, Coming This August

Seemingly inspired by multiple sources, the Deep Silver-developed Windbound will be heading to consoles and PC later this summer.

A recent trailer was recently for the game, showing off its unique visual style, crafting gameplay, and combat. A trailer for the game can be viewed below.

Windbound looks to be an action-adventure game that takes advantage of its Forbidden Island locale, seemingly separated from everywhere else.

The game encourages exploration, both on land and by sea, and allows you to customize your raft and even lets you choose what you want to sail in.

In Windbound, you play as a heroine who will fight a bevy of monsters using a bow and arrow or melee weapons, and will be taking rests at campfires in-between marathons of exploration of the island, which involves grassy landscapes and rocky cliffs.

The visual and gameplay style bear a remarkable resemblance to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, renowned for its quality of inspiring players to explore the land of Hyrule. Windbound even lets players use a glider to gently descend to other pieces of land.

Where the game diverts is with the sea exploration, which is somewhat similar to Wind Waker. However, we’ll see the identity Windbound carves for itself come its August 28, 2020 release.
