Gamers have had some bad news as Amazon confessed that customers expecting an Xbox Series X may have to wait until after Christmas.
Eager fans will have been expecting their new console to turn up on their doorsteps this week as Microsoft finally launched the new models.
But Amazon reportedly sent an email to customers explaining there had been a last minute delay in dispatch and that it may not arrive until after Christmas.
The US company said that the new console might not arrive for several weeks – leaving gamers in the lurch as shops around the world sell out.
According to dozens of reports, Amazon told customers in a stock email: “We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December.
“At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologise for any inconvenience.”
The email appears to have been sent to customers in the US who bought a Series X, with the Series S console seemingly not affected.

Amazon later tweeted: “Due to high demand, consoles will ship as inventory continues to arrive throughout November and December. You will receive an email notification when your order has shipped.”
Amazon UK customers have not escaped delays either.
Brits reported waking up to an email from the company saying there had been a last minute delay in dispatch.
Amazon reportedly said the console would be shipped “within the next business day” – despite previously pledging pre-orders would arrive on November 10.
Meanwhile, gamers have complained that the new models have been put on eBay for up to ten times the retail price.
One console was being flogged for £5,000 only hours after being released.
