Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will get to play Overwatch free for a week, in celebration of the game’s one-year anniversary on Nintendo’s hybrid console.
The game trial lasts from Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. ET until Wednesday, Oct. 21 at 2:59 p.m. ET. The free week does not include the extra content in Overwatch: Legendary Edition (which includes about 15 different hero skins). Also keep in mind that, after it launched, Overwatch on the Switch suffered from all sorts of performance problems, though subsequent patches have improved the game.
Overwatch launched on Nintendo Switch on Oct. 15, 2019. Two weeks later, Blizzard announced Overwatch 2 was in development.
The new game will feature four-player story-based missions to help advance the lore and narrative of the series, which so far has been delivered through cinematics and other non-interactive media. Overwatch 2 does not yet have a launch date or window.
