New Splinter Cell And Assassin's Creed Games Revealed For Oculus Quest 2

During today’s Oculus Quest 2 event, Ubisoft VP of product development Elizabeth Loverso announced two new games coming to Oculus VR headsets. Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell will both see their VR debut with games “built from the ground up” for virtual reality. Loverso said that both games will include “elements of the franchises” that players are familiar with. Unfortunately, no release date was revealed nor gameplay shown.

Ubisoft subsidiary Red Storm is leading development on the Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell VR games. The studio has a history with VR, having developed both Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Werewolves Within. The Red Storm team is also collaborating with Ubisoft Reflections, Ubisoft Dusseldorf, and Ubisoft Mumbai on the projects.

Ubisoft didn’t provide any other details about these games, so unfortunately, this is all we know. This is the first Splinter Cell game announced since the release of 2013’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Series protagonist Sam Fisher has made appearances in multiple other Ubisoft games, however, and recently joined Rainbow Six Siege as the shooter’s latest operator.
