Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s newest season is here, and that means players are getting a whole bunch of new content. The day one additions include Captain Price as the game’s newest Operator, the Scrapyard map, and two new weapons.
Scrapyard, Modern Warfare’s newest map, is a junkyard full of the shells of old airplanes. Many players are likely to recognize the map from its place in Warzone, but it originally appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, back in 2009. The map is fairly close quarters, featuring a few plane sections for players to run through, with buildings on the outlying edges that serve as spawn points, or sniper posts for more devious, long-range players.
Another fan-favorite also makes his way into the game with this season’s patch, as Captain Price joins the roster of Operators. Season 4 is also adding two new guns on day one with the CR-56 AMAX rifle and the FENNEC SMG. The CR-56 AMAX, in particular, seems like an interesting addition to the game, as it brings some additional damage in comparison with other popular rifles like the Grau 5.56.
As for the season’s later additions, the Cheshire Park map will be added to multiplayer at some point during the season, along with the Rytec AMR sniper rifle. As with previous seasons, there’s also a new battle pass with all kinds of cosmetic rewards for players to unlock over the next few weeks.
