Diablo 2 Resurrected will be a faithful remaster of Diablo 2 and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. Blizzard announced Resurrected in the closing moments of its BlizzConline opening ceremony on Friday.
Blizzard will release Diablo 2 Resurrected on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X later this year. A “technical alpha” for PC coming soon.
Diablo 2 Resurrected takes Diablo 2’s 2D sprites and paints over them with fully 3D-rendered models. The game’s new graphics can display in up to 4K resolution, but players can also toggle back to the original “nostalgic” graphics by pressing a button. Blizzard also promises 7.1 Dolby Surround support and 27 minutes of remastered cutscenes for Resurrected.
