Ubisoft unveiled Assassin’s Creed Valhalla at the end of April in the form of a cinematic trailer that introduced fans to the Viking raider Eivor. On Thursday, Ubisoft and Microsoft offered the first in-game look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with gameplay footage.
The gameplay reveal trailer was mostly scene-setting, but also included footage of what appears to be a raid, using longships and a raiding party, by Eivor and his Viking clan. Also, birds are back; looks like Eivor will have a raven buddy on his or her adventure.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set in the ninth century against England’s Dark Ages and stars Eivor, a Viking raider and clan leader. Players can choose to play as a female or male Eivor, and will be able to to customize her or him with a selection of hair, tattoos, clothing, war paint, and gear. Assassin’s Creed’s traditional open-world action-adventure gameplay will return, and Valhalla will build on that foundation with raids, settlement building and expansion, and political influence mechanics.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is coming to Google Stadia, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X this holiday.
