PlayStation 5 preorders will be available starting tomorrow, September 17, at select retailers, according to a tweet from PlayStation. At this time, we don’t know which retailers will have preorders in stock, but placeholder pages are live at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, and more. Target, GameStop, and Best Buy will even let you sign up for notifications, so you may want to do that before tomorrow.
During the PS5 showcase event, Sony revealed the PlayStation 5 will release November 12 for $500. The PS5 Digital Edition releases the same day–sans the disc drive–for $400.
For the past few weeks, Sony has been allowing fans to sign up for the chance to preorder the PS5 through PlayStation Direct. Naturally, this signaled that preorders would be extremely limited, and we assumed that the first wave would be exclusive to PlayStation Direct. That doesn’t seem to be the case now. Sony will now get a head start on Microsoft–Xbox Series X preorders go live on September 22.
