Xbox 20/20 Games Event Recap: Dirt 5, Assassin's Creed, And Everything Announced For Xbox Series X

Microsoft’s Inside Xbox livestream, the first in a series of Nintendo Direct-style presentations the company calls Xbox 20/20, went live today at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET / 3 PM GMT. While the broadcast didn’t feature any first-party titles like Halo Infinite, the company showcased Xbox Series X games from its third-party partners. This included a wide variety of genres, including sports games, racing games, action-role-playing games, and several first-person shooters. We even saw an unexpected surprise that will launch later this year.

The game lineup included the recently-announced Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Additionally, the livestream featured developers talking about how they are leveraging the power of the Xbox Series X, confirmation of games that will use Microsoft’s Smart Delivery service, and more.

You can stream the Xbox Series X event right here, as well as on the company’s official Facebook, Mixer, Twitch, Twitter, and YouTube channels.

Xbox 20/20 will occur every month throughout the rest of the year, with each livestream featuring different content surrounding the company’s various arms. This includes focusing on things like Xbox Series X, Xbox Game Studios, Xbox Game Pass, xCloud, and more. See all of our coverage for the first Xbox 20/20 Inside Xbox presentation below, including Smart Delivery announcements.

Bright Memory Infinite

Bright Memory Infinite is a frenetic first-person shooter set in a futuristic world that also happens to contain powerful Spartan warriors. The protagonist has a zipline tool as well as access to speedy vehicles. The game was created by a single person at FYQD Studio in China. It includes Smart Delivery support.

Dirt 5

Dirt 5 will also feature Smart Delivery between Xbox One and Xbox Series X. As usual, the game is being published by Codemasters, and includes gorgeous environments and vehicles. Both Nolan North and Troy Baker are featured in the game’s story.

Scorn

Scorn is a terrifying horror experience reminiscent of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus. It is told in a non-linear structure and you must explore an unfamiliar world with scary discoveries.

Chorus

A world premiere for the space combat game Chorus was shown during the presentation. Clips of gameplay were brief, but the protagonist appears to have a unique connection to her vehicle, and we see a planet disintegrating.

Madden 21

Patrick Mahomes made an appearance in the presentation to share news on Madden 21. As expected, the game is coming to Xbox Series X. The game supports an upgrade program, meaning you’ll get the game for free on Xbox Series X if you purchase on Xbox One. However, it is not Smart Delivery and will only be available for a limited time.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

Paradox Interactive, Hardsuit Labs, and World of Darkness presented a new trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 that showed off a twisting world, fast-paced combat, and the freedom you’ll have to shape its setting to your whim.

Call of the Sea

A bright and colorful–yet mysterious–adventure game, Call of the Sea sees a woman searching for “Harry. It takes place in the ’30s in the South Pacific, and is filled with plenty of secrets and discoveries.

The Ascent

A cyberpunk game with mechs, slaves, and workers in a run-down city, The Ascent is an isometric shooter with science-fiction abilities, and appears similar to Diablo, Alienation, and Warhammer 40K: Inquisitor – Martyr.

The Medium

The Medium trailer began with a woman getting an ultrasound on her unborn child before shifting to her praying inside an empty church. She appears to be hallucinating, as it briefly turns demonic, and ventures out into the cold. The game will be available this holiday season.

Scarlet Nexus

A trailer for Scarlet Nexus from Bandai Namco featured enemies called “The Others,” who cannot be hurt with traditional means. Trees are sprouted from their heads, and only with special psionic powers can the “OSF” organization save the world.

Second Extinction

Second Extinction is a new first-person shooter from Avalanche Studios. Earth has fallen and dinosaur creatures roam free. With a squad of players, you can take back the planet and slaughter the invaders.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to Xbox Series X at launch, with all of its drama and eccentricities intact. The game ditches real-time combat for a new turn-based system that is just goofy enough to work in Sega’s long-running franchise.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

We saw Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s gameplay debut to finish off the presentation. This included footage of a battering ram hitting a gate, archery, and brutal melee combat. However, the relatively-short presentation showed only a glimpse of direct gameplay.
