As August rages on, more and more leaks and teasers are starting to pour in for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. As mentioned in previous articles, the name for the next entry in the franchise isn’t official. However, thanks to some real-world marketing leaks, the name of the title seems set in stone. Although, everything is speculation right now, as Activision is remaining tight-lipped about the game. That could soon change though, as leakers are beginning to find evidence that a reveal is coming soon. In addition to that, leakers also know where the reveal could take place: the Gulag of Call of Duty: Warzone.
Black Ops Cold War reveal to be in the Gulag?
If you don’t play Warzone, the Gulag is the 1v1 pit where eliminated players go to fight it out for the chance to re-enter the battle royale match. The map itself is from the original Modern Warfare campaign, so there’s some history behind it. The Gulag could also be the place where we see Black Ops Cold War for the first time.
Over the past few days, Activision has sent out mystery packages to influencers. What’s in these packages is unknown but the recipients can open them on August 10. Most believe that the contents will include some marketing materials for the 2020 title.
It’s also come to light that the Gulag in Warzone could show some kind of reveal after the packages are opened. Leaker @ModernWarzone, who is generally accurate, has the details in a new tweet.
The apparent codename for Black Ops Cold War is “Zeus.” So, if ModernWarzone’s sources are correct, then the Gulag will hold some information regarding the 2020 title. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait until August 10 to see if this information is accurate.
