There will once again be Double XP (2XP) promotions in Call of Duty. After a successful campaign last year for Modern Warfare, both Mountain Dew and Doritos are returning as partners for this promotion. Essentially, specially marked packages from these two company’s products contain 2XP for Black Ops Cold War. For example, last year, certain bags of Doritos contained a code that gave the user 15 minutes of 2XP time in Modern Warfare multiplayer. Presumably, the same will happen this year but there could be some changes to the way it works.
2XP back in Call of Duty thanks to Mountain Dew and Doritos
Right now, you can visit Dewanddoritos.com for additional information on the promotion. However, the basis is fairly simple and should be replicated from last year. At the time of writing, the promotion is set to go live on October 5 at 12 pm ET. This likely means that past this point is when you can start entering 2XP codes.
For those 2XP codes, you can visit the official Call of Duty website to apply the time directly to your account. In regards to where you can get the codes, they’ll likely be marked on select Doritos bags and Mountain Dew GameFuel cans. When buying GameFuel, you can either buy a single can for 15 minutes of 2XP or a whole pack for more time. You can see a Black Ops Cold War promotion can of GameFuel below.
Presumably, the 2XP will apply to both Black Ops Cold War multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone. Although, there’s no word on if Zombies will be included in this promotion. Activision has traditionally included Zombies into 2XP events but we’re not sure if the codes will apply for the mode or not.
Once the event goes live, we should learn more information. Until then, keep up with Daily Esports for all Call of Duty news.
