Epic Games announced details on the upcoming Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) All Star Showdown, which will run from June 11-26, and feature a total prize pool of $3M USD.
For this All Star Showdown, Epic has partnered with BLAST to help facilitate a variety of competitive activities, leading up to the All Star Solo Championship on June 26.
All Star Showdown Hype
Starting June 11, the competitive series will open with popular Fortnite creators who will help hype the FNCS All Star Showdown by hosting their own challenges and tournaments focused on the FNCS All Star Showdown and the Creative skills challenges.
Skills Challenges
Epic will run three bracket-style Skills Challenges centered on “Building, Editing, and Aiming” with the help of Fortnite Creators ImmatureGamer, Enigma, and Dummblond and the five different Fortnite Creative maps they have made.
The top three teams from Chapter 2 Season 5 and the top three teams from Chapter 2 Season 6 will designate one person from their trios to compete. Two players from each region have also been invited to fill out the remaining two spots in each Skills Challenge. Only qualified or invited players to the FNCS All Star Showdown Skills Challenges are eligible for prizes. The Skills Challenges include a Blueprint Battle and Bullseye Bonanza on June 23 and a High Tier competition on June 24. Following the Skills Challenge, Epic will host a team competition in a game called “Play for Keeps” to determine which team has the best overall skills in Fortnite without the ability to build structures.
Additional Slots for All Star Solo Championship
While many of the slots in each region are already filled, Epic will provide a way for players to get into the competition from June 18-20, offering 10 spots per region for all eligible Champion League players via a four-round Solo All Star Play In.
All Star Solo Championship
The FNCS All Star Solo Championship will take place June 26 and consist of six games and follow the point format of the Solo Cash Cups, but will provide extra prize money for the player with the most eliminations at the end of each match ($113-$1,020 depending on the region). The player with the most points at the end of all six matches will be crowned the FNCS All Star Solo Champion.
Broadcast Plans
Finally, Epic said that FNCS All Star Showdown competitions will be broadcast on YouTube and Twitch, and will be available in English, German, French, and Spanish. The broadcast of various competitions will begin on June 23. Epic plans on offering Twitch Drops during broadcasts that includes an emoticon, spray, loading screen, and back bling. Epic will also provide a feed of the stream to community members who want to co-stream on Twitch and agree to its terms and conditions. Epic will also provide an FNCS All Star-themed graphics package to anyone who is participating.
