How to counter Mirage with Bloodhound in Apex Legends Season 5

The Apex Legends Season 5 update saw some characters receive a long-awaited buff. Among these legends was Mirage, the witty master of decoys who hadn’t really been buffed or nerfed for several seasons. However, Season 5 introduced drastic changes to every ability Mirage possesses. While he’s still not a huge part of the Apex Legends meta, he is now a more-than-viable option for players. Though, Respawn Entertainment couldn’t make the decoy master too overpowered, which is why they introduced a counter to one of Mirage’s abilities.

Bloodhound now counters Mirage in Apex Legends

Neither Mirage nor Bloodhound has been a hugely popular legend in the past. The latter certainly has a decent fanbase, as Bloodhound’s abilities can be useful. Mirage, on the other hand, has never been most players’ first pick.

That has somewhat changed with Season 5, as the buff has made players take a second look at Mirage. After all, his ultimate is now vastly improved, and he boasts one of the best passive abilities in Apex Legends. Also, in general, Mirage’s decoys can be extremely difficult to deal with in the heat of battle. If you’re struggling with this, you can counter the decoy with Bloodhound’s Eye of the Allfather tactical ability.

This counter is shown off by a Reddit user who pulled off a great sequence of events:

    • Not sure if this is common knowledge, Bloodhound’s tactical highlights the real mirage with a diamond

As evident by the number of upvotes, this counter hadn’t been very well known in the Apex Legends community. To debunk the decoy from the real Mirage, all you have to do is activate Bloodhound’s tactical ability. This will show the real Mirage on your HUD with a small, highlighted diamond.

Season 5 just kicked off, so who knows what other tricks the community will discover? If any more pop up, we’ll be sure to let you know here at Daily Esports.
